Post 639 is know by lots of people in the community as "the place where the helicopters are".  Post Commander Mike Chandler received official notification that his request for a "static display" UH-1S helicopter was approved on July 3, 1993 by Edward C. Gruetzemacher, III Colonel, State Army Aviation Officer.  The "Cobra", serial number 71-21016,  was dedicated on November 12, 1994.  The Cobra was in service with the Arkansas National Guard and the first log entry was 12/12/72 and the last was 8/21/92.  Below are some pictures from the arrival to the dedication.  If you have any information or additional pictures of the Cobra, email us at information@post639.com for consideration of inclusion on this page.
